Adopt a book

New life for textile books of the Educational Silk Museum.

The project "Adopt a Book", commissioned by the class of '53 to celebrate its 60 years, highlighting an important and valuable asset in the city, officially took off Wednesday, February 20, 2013. For the occasion at the presence of representatives of the classes from 1950 to 1961 was delivered to the Association for the Silk Museum the sum that allows early restoration of the book "adopted" by the class 53: "Textile book Clerici Antonio" dated the first half of 800.

This project is  to promote the active participation of citizens and operators in the sector to the protection and enhancement of  Museum archives, books and manuscripts, facilitating consultation through the use of today's technology.

Everyone can participate in this initiative, which will be officially presented to the city in detail on Thursday, April 18, 2013.

You will be able to admire the precious volume and understand through explanation of the restorer, Francesco Rizzo, what work will be done to preserve it and to prepare it for digitization.

There will be a detailed list, with the costs of books that need restoration and / or a digital copy, "adoptable" through a cash donation of varying size.
