Textile Geographies: encounters between sign and matter
Words take shape, fabrics tell stories.
A special temporary exhibition that combines literature, fashion, and local heritage is opening in our Penelope Room. The Fashion Department students of I.S.I.S. Setificio Paolo Carcano have brought a unique creative journey to life.
📖 The inspiration comes from the pages of the book "La moda non è un mestiere per cuori solitari" ("Fashion is not a craft for lonely hearts") by Patrizia Sardo Marras.
🎨 Through a deep exploration of shapes, colors, and materials, the students have created an intimate and special dialogue: the warm charm of Alghero blends with the great textile tradition of Como. A visual dialogue uniting two extraordinary identities.
🗺️ The exhibition is part of the program “IL VIAGGIO – percorsi intorno al lago, tra paesaggio e ispirazione” (“THE JOURNEY – pathways around the lake, between landscape and inspiration”), promoted in synergy with the Ville e Musei del Lago di Como coordination network.
The exhibition is open until June 3rd, 2026.
